Rhythm Changes Backing Track in Bb

Lesson Overview

One of the most common chord progressions, ii-V-I, is the basis for this legendary jazz form. Rhythm Changes can be used as a practice tool to work on everything from chord voicings to solos, melody and technique. Meant for the advanced player, this tune takes you through some highly advanced chord changes that can be substituted or altered to create an always-new and inspiring progression. With two chords to a bar (in the A section, that is) the changes happen very fast and if you’re not ready can pass you by. Check out both versions of this track, one with rhythm guitar comping and one without, in order to better understand the comping style and what you can do to improvise over it.
